Cookie Policy
The one cookie we use, what it does, and how long it lasts. No tracking or ad networks.
LOADFRONT COOKIE POLICY
Hi there! This is our cookie policy. We explain what they are, which ones we use (very few), why we need them, and how you can manage them.
The ultra-short version: we use 1 technical cookie, the one that keeps your session open. None of them are third-party, and nothing we store can follow you around other sites.
This document complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Spain’s Organic Law 3/2018 on Data Protection (LOPDGDD), and Law 34/2002 on Information Society Services (LSSICE).
WHAT ARE COOKIES?
Cookies are small text files that websites store in your browser. They work like a memory that lets the site remember things about you between visits.
Think of them as digital post-its: the website leaves notes in your browser to remember, for example, that you’ve logged in or which language you prefer.
The types that exist
Based on who manages them:
- First-party cookies: Created by the site you’re visiting (loadfront.com)
- Third-party cookies: Created by other sites or external services
Based on how long they last:
- Session cookies: Disappear when you close your browser
- Persistent cookies: Remain until they expire or you delete them
Based on what they’re for:
- Technical cookies: Necessary for the site to work (login, navigation)
- Preference cookies: Remember your personal choices
- Analytics cookies: Measure how you use the site
- Advertising cookies: For personalized ads
Of that last classification, loadfront only uses the technical ones. And always first-party: we load no third-party cookies.
THE COOKIES WE USE
We use exactly 1 technical cookie. Nothing more.
Session cookie: lf_session_id
What is it for?
It lets us establish and maintain your user session. Without it, you can’t even log in, because we’d have no way to identify you.
Technical details
- Type: First-party session cookie
- Duration: Until you log out or close your browser (maximum 30 days of inactivity)
- What it stores: A unique random session identifier and creation date
- Is it necessary?: Yes, absolutely. Without it you can’t use your account
- Legal basis: Performance of the contract (GDPR Art. 6.1.b)
Why doesn’t it ask for consent?
Under GDPR, cookies that are strictly necessary to provide the service you’ve requested don’t require prior consent. It’s technically impossible to maintain a session without this cookie.
Summary of our cookies
| Cookie | Type | Duration | Necessary? |
|---|---|---|---|
lf_session_id | Session | Until logout (max. 30 days inactive) | Yes |
That’s it for cookies. Just one. Though, as you’ll see just below, we use two additional technical entries in your browser (neither is a cookie, and neither identifies you).
OTHER STORAGE TECHNOLOGIES
The language suggestion
If your browser indicates a different language than the one you’re viewing, we suggest switching with a floating banner. So we don’t repeat it more than once per visit, we store one technical entry in your browser (sessionStorage, not a cookie):
- What it stores: only that you’ve already seen the banner, nothing else. Not the language you picked, and no identifier
- Duration: until you close the tab or browser
- Sent to our servers?: no, it lives only in your browser
- Legal basis: legitimate interest, avoiding repeating the same suggestion more than once per visit (GDPR Art. 6.1.f)
Remembering the language you chose
When you manually switch languages with the header’s language selector, we save your choice so that, if the banner above triggers again on a later visit, it suggests the language you already picked instead of just your browser’s:
- What it stores: the language code you chose (
esoren), nothing else - How it’s created: only when you explicitly click the language selector, never automatically or passively
- Duration: until you switch language again or clear your browser data
- Sent to our servers?: no, it lives only in your browser (
localStorage) - Legal basis: legitimate interest, remembering an explicit choice you made yourself (GDPR Art. 6.1.f)
Important: this does not automatically switch your language or redirect you without asking. It only makes the same floating banner above suggest, next time, the language you chose before.
Future use: visual theme and account preferences
Currently we don’t remember your visual theme (light/dark) between visits.
In the future we may use:
Account preferences cookie
lf_prefs cookie (future):
- Will store preferences the server needs to know about your account
- Will only be created if we do implement it, and we’ll tell you first
- Legal basis: Performance of the contract (GDPR Art. 6.1.b)
Local storage for visual preferences
Local browser storage (future):
- Will store preferences that only the browser needs (visual theme, UI density)
- Not sent to the servers
- Will only be created if we do implement these options
- Legal basis: Legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6.1.f)
We’ll notify you in advance before implementing any of these technologies, and this policy will be updated accordingly.
What we DON’T use
We don’t use any of these techniques:
- Web beacons or tracking pixels
- Browser fingerprinting
- Canvas tracking
- Passive identification techniques
HOW TO MANAGE COOKIES
From your browser
All browsers let you manage cookies. Here are the official guides:
- Chrome: Manage cookies
- Firefox: Manage cookies
- Safari (Mac): Manage cookies
- Safari (iOS): Manage cookies
- Microsoft Edge: Manage cookies
What happens if you block cookies
If you block our cookie:
- You won’t be able to log in to your account (without
lf_session_idit’s impossible) - The public website will keep working normally
- Your contracted services won’t be affected
In short: It only affects your ability to use the web account. Everything else works.
LEGAL BASIS AND COMPLIANCE
Regulations we comply with
This policy strictly complies with:
- General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
- Organic Law 3/2018 on Data Protection (LOPDGDD)
- Law 34/2002 on Information Society Services (LSSICE)
- AEPD guide on the use of cookies
Why there’s no cookie banner
Our cookie is exempt from requiring prior consent because:
Session cookie (lf_session_id): It’s strictly necessary for the service you’ve requested. We can’t maintain your session without it. Legal basis: Performance of the contract (GDPR Art. 6.1.b).
Under recital 49 of the GDPR, cookies strictly necessary to provide the requested service do not require prior consent.
If we implement additional cookies in the future, this policy will be updated and we’ll notify you in advance.
